Pure C8 Oil or Blended MCT (60:40 / 70:30)?
Blended MCT oil combines caprylic (C8) and capric (C10) triglycerides at an agreed ratio — see MCT Oil (Medium-Chain Triglycerides) — and suits most food, nutrition and cosmetic bases. Glyceryl trioctanoate on this page is the single-ester alternative (C8:0 ≥ 95%, CAS 538-23-8), selected when a formulation specifically requires pure caprylic triglyceride. For excipient use, see pharmaceutical-grade MCT oil.
When requesting a quotation or a 1 kg sample, stating your application, required C8 purity, specification limits, estimated quantity and destination port helps our sales team reply with an accurate offer through the RFQ form.

FAQ
What is glyceryl trioctanoate?
Glyceryl trioctanoate is the triglyceride formed from caprylic acid (C8) and glycerol — the pure C8 fraction of MCT oil. It is listed on this page under the alias C8 oil, with CAS No. 538-23-8 and a molecular weight of 386.52 g/mol.
Is glyceryl trioctanoate the same as C8 MCT?
Yes, it is the single-component C8 triglyceride, supplied to a C8:0 specification of ≥ 95%. The standard C8/C10 blend is a different product: see MCT Oil (Medium-Chain Triglycerides) for that grade.
What is the CAS number?
CAS No. 538-23-8; EINECS No. 208-688-4.
What applications is C8 MCT oil used for?
In pharmaceutical preparations and high-end cosmetics — creams and essences in particular, where its absorption-enhancing properties and low irritation are of value — and in food processing, where it contributes stability and texture.
Do you provide a COA?
Yes. A batch COA with actual test results is issued with each shipment.

Manufacturing & Quality
This product is manufactured by Shandong Nametai Biotechnology Co., Ltd. at its Dongying plant (Yellow River Delta Agricultural High-tech Zone, Shandong), a 5,220 m² facility with an annual capacity of 10,000 tonnes. Production uses fractionation and molecular distillation to isolate the C8 fraction.
Every batch is tested in our in-house QC laboratory before release, covering the parameters listed in the specification table above. Heavy metals, plasticizers and microbiological items are verified through third-party laboratory reports. A batch COA is issued with each shipment.
The site holds ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, HACCP, Kosher, HALAL, FDA food-facility registration and a China food production licence, all issued to Shandong Nametai Biotechnology Co., Ltd. The issuing body is printed on each certificate so it can be verified independently.
Typical use of this product: flavour carriers, sports nutrition and clinical nutrition. To review the facility, the QC laboratory and the certificates held by the manufacturing site, see our factory and our certifications. For batch documentation, samples or a quotation, request a quote.
